I’m glad to share that I’ve just completed and been awarded the Certificate in Superyacht Surveying from Lloyd’s Maritime Academy (Informa Connect Academy).
Superyachts are not simply larger boats. They are bespoke vessels, each one different, where construction, machinery, safety systems and the rules that govern them must be read together. This programme focused on exactly that: how to recognise when a vessel should be treated as a superyacht, how to build the scope of a survey case by case, how to carry it out and report the findings, and how classification and statutory requirements fit into the picture.
For the owners, buyers and brokers I work with along the Italian coast and on the French Riviera, it means one thing: a more rigorous, better-structured survey when the vessel is a superyacht. It adds to the way I already work — an IIMS-affiliated surveyor, registered with the Court of Rome and certified NDT Level II — and sharpens the tools I bring aboard.
