A brief summary video of the pre-purchase survey conducted on Kirribilli, a Vismara 60 designed by Renzo Piano for himself. The boat was built with the best materials and techniques available in the 2000s. It is a no-compromise sailing vessel, designed to sail comfortably even in light winds—a true sailboat. The sail plan is very important, and therefore the forces at play are significant, which is why the boat’s structural components required thorough inspections using ultrasound via an ultrasonic scanner to assess the condition of the composite materials. After many miles traveled, Kirribilli is still in excellent shape, thanks also to the careful attention of its skipper. Following a successful survey, the boat was acquired by a Norwegian family whose plans include sailing around the Mediterranean.
